Footed Teacups
In Japan these cups are called 'Yunomi' and are everyday drinking cups. They have a tall foot to hold while the body of the cup is too hot to grip. You can hold the cup by the rim and foot and then wait for your chosen drink to come to a drinkable temperature and then they are lovely clasp in your hands while drinking.

Left: Iron rich clay, banded and stamped. Fired on it's side using shells which have left marks in the Cornish Stine and Dolomite glaze
Right: Iron rich clay, dipped and finger wiped white slip and a white, Shino type glazed interior.
Both approx 9cm tall.
Gas/wood fired to 1300°C in a reduction atmosphere.
