A small drinking bowl made from an iron rich high fired stoneware clay.
The bowl is glazed with an estuarine silt, bisque slip, Cornish Stone and Dolomite glaze pours and melted hardwood ash. This particular bowl was fired on the bag wall in a particularly hot-spot in the kiln. The clay, slip and silt combinations became very hot during the firing and melted together really satisfyingly.
Gas/wood fired to above 1300°C in a reduction atmosphere.
8cm tall x 10.4cm diameter at the rim
