Footed Teacups
In Japan these cups are called 'Yunomi' and are everyday drinking cups. They have a tall foot to hold while the body of the cup is too hot to grip. You can hold the cup by the rim and foot and then wait for your chosen drink to come to a drinkable temperature and then they are lovely clasp in your hands.

Left: Thrown, textured and turned iron rich clay, glazed with my FFM glaze.

Right: Thrown and textured with a carved and cut foot-ring from an iron rich clay, glazed with a fluid and rough, estuarine silt and whiting glaze.

Gas/wood fired to 1300°C in a reduction atmosphere.
